Wayne State University Big Band with Terence Blanchard

World-renowned trumpeter and film score master Terence Blanchard joins up with the Wayne State University Big Band in a performance featuring Blanchard’s arrangements of popular movie themes, including A Street Car Named Desire (Alex North) and The Pawnbroker (Quincy Jones). The award-winning WSU Big Band, the premier performance ensemble for Wayne State’s Jazz Studies Program, performs a wide range of traditional and contemporary repertoire. Led by Chris Collins, the band has performed with artists such as Joe Lovano, Diane Schuur and Kurt Elling, among others.
