Ledisi
7:45–9:15PM, Chase Main Stage

Ledisi Anibade Young hails from the Big Easy, where she sang with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra when she was just eight years old. She became an underground sensation with her 2001 release Soulsinger and 2003’s Feeling Orange But Sometimes Blue, which led to opening dates for the likes of Chaka Khan. She later signed with Verve Forecast and recorded Lost & Found (2007), which received two Grammy nominations, including one for “Best New Artist.” Two singles, “Alright” and “In the Morning,” reached the top 50 of Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop chart. Her follow-up album, Turn Me Loose (2009), garnered another two Grammy nominations. Ledisi is backed by Lorenzo Johnson (keyboard), Idris Davis (bass), Steven Walker (guitar), Jason Holt (drums), Sara Williams (backup vocals) and Kamaria Ousley (backup vocals). Ledisi's musical director is Anthony Walker.
