Jason D. Williams Show
5:45–7:00PM, Chase Main Stage
The Kansas City Star called this dynamic Memphis piano player “the past and future of rock & roll.” The Beacon Journal went even further, proclaiming him the “the world’s greatest piano player.” Williams’ style is difficult to describe. His fiery playing covers a broad musical spectrum that incorporates elements of classical, rockabilly, country, jazz and, of course, rock & roll. One thing is certain: he is unmatched as a crowd pleaser, evoking memories of the legendary Jerry Lee Lewis. Joining him at the Detroit Jazz Fest are Mike Harber (bass) and Chris Sechler (drums).
