Dennis Tini Trio

Tini has fully embraced the concept of performer/educator. Named the WSU Distinguished Professor of Music in 2005, Tini is co-founder of the Wayne State University Jazz Studies Program, director of the WSU Jazztet and conductor of the WSU Choral Union. He is also an accomplished pianist and composer who has appeared with Buddy Rich, Jon Faddis, Don Ellis, Marvin Stamm, Bunky Green and J.C. Heard, among others. Tini is in demand as a trio and ensemble leader and has appeared regularly at major music festivals, universities, and conferences throughout Europe, South Africa, Canada, South America, and the United States. His recordings as a leader include The Eyes of Youth (2004) and Global Peace & Understanding (2007). Joining Tini are Jeff Halsey (bass) and Dave Taylor (drums).
