“Two albums in, James Fortune has emerged as one of his genre's strongest inspirations. He serves as a multi-faceted general over his nine-member army, FIYA, usually possessing an iron-clad grip on ferocious drum beats with whisper-like background voices” (Soul Tracks). This dynamic gospel group has opened for various artists, including John P. Kee, Kim Burrell, Stevie Wonder, Mary Mary and many others. In 2004, the group released its highly anticipated debut album, You Survived. The title track reached #5 on the Billboard Radio chart and was listed among the most-played gospel songs for 2005. FIYA has also released two other well-received albums: The Transformation (2008) and Encore (2010), which recently reached #7 on the Billboard Gospel Album chart.
